•Death Valley, USA

• The Danakil Desert, Eritrea




Extending from Massaua to Djibouti, the Danakil Desert is one of the most low-lying & hottest places on earth.

•Mount Washington, USA




Mount Washington, called Agiocochook by some Native American tribes, is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States & the most prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River. Mount Washington's weather is notoriously extreme. In winter, Mount Washington experiences sub- zero temperatures, hurricane- force winds, snow & ice that essentially turn the peak into an Arctic outpost in the temperate climate zone.
         Mount Washington receives very high levels of precipitation about 97 inches of precipitation per year on average. A large portion of this snow fell during a 24- hour period on February 1969.

•Sinabung Volcano, Indonesia




A volcano on Indonesia's Samatra has erupted, sending a torrent of searing gas more than 4 kilometres  down its slopes.
Mount Sinabung also sent a plume of thick ash 5km into the atmosphere during the latest activity.

•Iha da Queimada Grande (Snake Island), Brazil




Iha da Queimada Grande, located about 90 miles off the Sao Paulo coast. It's infested with between 2,000 & 4,000 golden lancehead vipers, one of the deadliest snakes in the entire world. These vipers' venom can kill a person in under an hour,and numerous local legends tell of the horrible fates that awaited those who wandered onto the shores of "Snake Island".

•Madidi National Park, Bolivia




Madidi National Park is a jungle paradise situated in the upper Amazon river basin of Bolivia, Close to the borders of Peru & Brazil.

•Valley of Death, Kamchatka, Russia




The Valley of Death is situated in the Russian Far East. High concentrations of toxic gases threat to every living thing : plants & animals die quickly, while people soon starts to feel unwell & get a fever, dizziness & chill.

•Bikini Atoll, The Marshall Islands




Bikini Atoll is a Micronesian Island chain located about halfway between Hawaii & Australia, which consists of 23 islands. It is a Nuclear testing site.

When I am talking about Traditional Masks, it is better to tell you something about Ambalangoda. It is a well known city for mask making industry which is located at South Western coastal belt of Sri Lanka. It is really amazing art & culture.  There was a ancient story behind the mask making industry. Today, masks are used for various rituals & dance performances. According to ancient believes, it also use to cure sicknesses.  In mask making industry they used " Rukkattana " and " Diyakandura " as a timber because it must be a light and durable timber. Those trees have that qualities. So that they selected it for their crafts. After making their masks they uses decorative methods for makes its beauty. They used nice colours for that. Ceylon Tea

The History of Ceylon Tea 2737 BC - Tea was first discovered in China during the reign of Chinese Emperor Shen Nong. In 1824, British brought a tea plant from china to Ceylon. The botanical name for tea is " Camellia   Sinensis  " from China. In 1867, James Taylor ( Scottish by origin ) planted 19 acres of tea in the city of Kandy in Ceylon, at the Loolecondra Estate, Hewaheta as the first commercial tea plantation. The first public Colombo auction took place on 30th July 1883 under the guidance of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Thomas Lipton, a Scottish businessman and millionaire came to Sri Lanka and made business deals with James Taylor. Lipton's company purchased Ceylon tea and distributed it to Europe and the USA. Tea became Sri Lanka's main commercial export crop and the entire local economy shifted to tea.
