George Keyt was a one of the modern painter which lived in Sri Lanka. He painted many more kind of paintings including different types of topics. This painting was also belongs to him. Though it called as a painting it has a special name. That name called "Mural" . The reason behind it that were painted on walls. This Mural belongs to "Gothami Vihara" in Sri Lanka.

            There was an ancient story based on this painting. It was a one of the most precious occasion of the life of Lord Buddha. This mural shows the "Birth of Buddha". According to my opinion this painter painted his mural by showing all the expressions & emotions lively in the human faces. Besides he used nice colour combination in his mural. He used light colours to get the lightening shine to his mural & used hard colours to show the shadows. Not only that he also painted nearest & farest things nicely. There also their juwellaries were painted in a amazing way. If a person see this mural, it is definitely no doubt to have a devotion on visitors' heart. This paint shows the creativity & ability of the painter. He was combined tradition with modernity such a great way in this painting.

It is a well known city for mask making industry which is located at South Western coastal belt of Sri Lanka. It is really amazing art & culture.  There was a ancient story behind the mask making industry. Today, masks are used for various rituals & dance performances. The History of Ceylon Tea 2737 BC - Tea was first discovered in China during the reign of Chinese Emperor Shen Nong. In 1824, British brought a tea plant from china to Ceylon. The botanical name for tea is " Camellia   Sinensis  " from China. In 1867, James Taylor ( Scottish by origin ) planted 19 acres of tea in the city of Kandy in Ceylon, at the Loolecondra Estate, Hewaheta as the first commercial tea plantation. The first public Colombo auction took place on 30th July 1883 under the guidance of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Thomas Lipton, a Scottish businessman and millionaire came to Sri Lanka and made business deals with James Taylor. Lipton's company purchased Ceylon tea and distributed it to Europe and the USA. Tea became Sri Lanka's main commercial export crop and the entire local economy shifted to tea.
